As a world-class resort town, Nuevo Vallarta satisfies those visitors looking the perfect relaxing holiday by the sea. This said, for those that prefer a bit more excitement, there are a number of activities and excursions on offer such as horseback riding, cruises, diving and exploring the picturesque Old Town (Romantic Zone), La Cruz de Huancaxtle, Punta de Mita, Sayulita, San Pancho etc… Another favorite spot for visitors is beautiful beach in Nuevo Vallarta. You can simply walk there and relax or enjoy the day at ETC. Beach Club in Nuevo . On the beach in Nuevo you can Parasail, Jet ski, Kayak, and rent umbrellas and chairs.
In the downtown area (which is actually older than the Old Town) history buffs will find some interesting architecture including the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, the Los Arcos Amphitheater and the Town Hall (Presidencia) as well sculptures and art exhibits in the main square.
Surrounding Areas
When in the mood to get into the action calls, there is plenty to do in Nuevo Vallarta and surrounding areas. In the Sierra Mountains, located directly behind the resort town, locals still live in a natural environment much in the same way they did a century ago; simple, friendly and uncomplicated. A lovely fishing village to the North is called La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and boasts some of the loveliest beaches around. Further North, Sayulita is known for its excellent surfing conditions and even features a school for female surfers.
